Continuando con la temporada de premios, que inició con los Globos de Oro 2024, el domingo 14 de enero se realizó la ceremonia de premiación de los Critics Choice Awards, organizada por la Asociación de Críticos (CCA) y conformada por especialistas de Estados Unidos y Canadá.
Chelsea Handler estuvo a cargo de la presentación de los Critics Choice Awards, que convocó a varias celebridades del cine y la televisión. El pronóstico se basa en las decisiones de los unos 600 críticos y periodistas.
La ceremonia remarcó a algunos artistas y producciones como los favoritos del año, entre ellos a Jeremy Allen White, Kieran Culkin, Ali Wong, Steven Young, Elizabeth Debicki y Robert Downey Jr.
Aunque también hubo otras sorpresas como el premio a Mejor Canción para ‘I’m just Ken’, compuesto por Mark Ronson y Andrew Wyatt, arrebató la estatuilla a la gran favorita de la velada, ‘What was I made For?’ de Billie Eilish, que forma parte del soundtrack de la misma película.
Por otro lado, Paul Giamatti le ganó el puesto como Mejor Actor a Cillian Murphy en la categoría a Mejor Actor, por su papel en ‘Los que permanecen’ (‘The Holdovers’).
